Many organizations are beginning to evaluate their environmental impact and with this can come a lot of confusion. With over 300 laser printers on the market, how can someone find the printers which are the most environmentally friendly? Printers have an obvious impact to the environment, we must be aware of this factor as well when making a purchasing decision. Price is important, but it is imperative that we are cognizant of factors outside of costs which can and will affect future generations. The good news is the most efficient printers also happen to be the least expensive to operate (but usually a bit more to purchase). The two brands which seem to be doing the most at this time in regards to reducing their (and our) carbon footprint are Xerox and Kyocera. Other manufacturers are catching up, but most have a considerable distance to make up to equal what Xerox and Kyocera have done.
